Sony Agrees To Pay €47M Antitrust Fine: Report

Law360, New York (February 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Sony Corp. has reportedly decided to pay the €47.2 million fine imposed on it by the European Commission for allegedly fixing prices on professional videotapes sold in Europe.

The EC fined Sony, Fuji and Maxell a combined €74 million in November. Since then, Maxell has agreed to pay its €14.4 million fine, while Fuji has not yet decided what to do about its €13.2 million fine, according to Kyodo News.

Sony did immediately respond to a request for comment on Tuesday.
