Mitsui Pledges $400M To Expand Eagle Ford Shale Operations

Law360, New York (September 24, 2013, 5:13 PM EDT) -- Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co. Ltd. has approved a $400 million expansion of its shale oil play in the Texas Eagle Ford Shale that will accelerate development and increase total production at the site, Mitsui announced Tuesday.

The capital infusion increases the total project cost to roughly $2.2 billion. Mitsui, which is operating the Eagle Ford oil and gas field, owns a 12.5 percent equity stake in the project.
