UK Lawmakers 'Condemn' Google On Policing For Piracy

Law360, New York (September 26, 2013, 2:09 PM EDT) -- A group of British lawmakers released a report Thursday blasting Google Inc. over its efforts to shut down online piracy by policing its search results, saying the company's steps thus far have been “derisorily ineffective.”

The report by the House of Commons Culture, Media and Sport Committee didn't mince words: The lawmakers said that continuing to show links to infringing sites was “unacceptable” and that the committee was “unimpressed” with Google's “flimsy grounds” for not doing more.
