Fla. Sen. Wants Sales Tax Benefit For Daytona Speedway

Law360, Washington (September 26, 2013, 6:15 PM EDT) -- Florida Sen. Dorothy Hukill, R-Port Orange, on Thursday proposed new tax legislation that would allow the Daytona International Speedway to receive state sales tax distributions available to other professional sports teams.

Hukill filed Senate Bill 208, which would would authorize the complex to get sales tax refunds on items sold on-site. The tax refunds currently apply only to sports facilities for major league professional sports.
