NSA Employees Spied On Family Members, Lovers

Law360, Washington (September 27, 2013, 8:12 PM ET) -- National Security Administration employees have used the agency's telephone surveillance systems to spy on family members and romantic partners, the NSA's inspector general said in a letter to a U.S. senator on Thursday.

NSA Inspector General Dr. George Ellard listed 12 instances in which agency employees misused the agency's telephone surveillance system to retrieve, or "task," the phone records — and in some instances, the recorded voices — of their friends, lovers or family members.
