FERC To Assess Impact Of Maine LNG Terminal

Law360, New York (February 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said on Wednesday that it was preparing an environmental impact statement for a planned liquid natural gas terminal in Maine, promising to move the controversial project closer to regulatory approval.

The project, proposed by Downeast LNG Inc., would consist of a terminal in Robbinston, Maine, where ships would drop off natural gas transported in liquid form and of a 30-mile pipeline delivering that gas into the local pipeline network.
