Another Extended USPTO Program To Reduce Patent Pendency

Law360, New York (September 27, 2013, 5:39 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has made ongoing efforts to achieve compact prosecution, decrease pendency and reduce the number of requests for continued examination filed. In one of the efforts, the USPTO has initiated a pilot program, the Quick Path Information Disclosure Statement pilot, to allow patent applicants to file an information disclosure statement after the payment of issue fee potentially without an RCE. The pilot was scheduled to last until Sept. 30, 2013. The USPTO has just extended the pilot through Dec. 14, 2013 (http://www.uspto.gov/patents/init_events/qpids.jsp)....
