Raytheon Locks Down $243M Navy Missile Contract

Law360, New York (September 30, 2013, 3:41 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Defense has given the green light to a $243 million contract for Raytheon Missile Systems to supply 89 extended range missiles with ballistic capabilities to the U.S. Navy, the company announced Monday.

The deal, which adds to a previously awarded Navy contract for missile supplies, puts Raytheon in charge of procuring 89 Standard Missile-6 interceptors plus necessary spare parts and services, the announcement said. Raytheon must deliver the missiles to the Navy's Naval Sea Systems Command by March 2016.
