CBS Concludes Drawn-Out Superfund Dispute

Law360, New York (February 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- CBS Corp. will pay $31.35 million toward the cleanup of six Superfund sites in and around Bloomington, Ind., bringing to a close the decades-long dispute over hazardous polychlorinated biphenyl contamination for which a CBS predecessor company was allegedly liable.

The U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the State of Indiana announced on Tuesday the settlement with CBS, the former Viacom Inc. subsidiary whose holdings include the CBS television network.
