Doctor's $1M Counterclaim Nixed In Suit Over Sandy Damage

Law360, New York (October 1, 2013, 5:29 PM ET) -- A New York state court dismissed a pediatrician’s $1 million defamation counterclaim in a suit over property damages sustained by a Brooklyn building after Hurricane Sandy, according to an opinion released Monday.

Dr. Daniel Abuelenin filed his counterclaim against 7001 East 71 St. LLC, the owner of the building where he practiced with Millennium Pediatrics, after the company accused him and his employer of leaving medical waste and dangerous electrical cables on site after being told to vacate the premises.
