Judge Stays $1B Dow Antitrust Verdict On Appeal

Law360, New York (October 2, 2013, 5:32 PM EDT) -- A Kansas federal judge on Tuesday agreed to stay a $1.06 billion judgment against Dow Chemical Co. while the company appeals the decision in a class action accusing it of fixing the price of chemicals used to make urethane foam.

U.S. District Judge John W. Lungstrum signed off on the stipulated stay, which requires Dow to post a $400 million bond in exchange for putting the judgment on hold up through a possible appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
