Calif. Gov. Signs 10 Bills As ACA Exchanges Go Live

Law360, Washington (October 2, 2013, 7:08 PM EDT) -- California Gov. Jerry Brown signed a series of bills on Tuesday that bolster the state's Affordable Care Act implementation, ranging from extending health care tax benefits to same-sex couples to nixing secrecy provisions for insurers.

All in all, Brown signed 10 health care bills on Tuesday as the state's ACA health insurance exchange went online, and one bill in particular will make many Covered California vendor and contractor rates and agreements open to public inspection under the California Public Records Act, the governor noted.
