Advantages Of Being A Well-Known Seasoned Issuer

Law360, New York (October 10, 2013, 1:37 PM ET) -- In adopting reforms to the securities offering process in 2005, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission created different “categories” of issuers, including well-known seasoned issuers (WKSIs) and seasoned issuers.

An issuer classified in one of these categories, particularly an issuer classified as a WKSI, enjoys significant advantages in offering its securities under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the “Securities Act”).
