Ex-Broker Gets January Trial In IBM Insider Trading Case

Law360, New York (October 03, 2013, 6:48 PM ET) -- A federal judge on Thursday set a January trial date for David J. Weishaus, a former broker accused of conspiring to trade ahead of a 2009 IBM Corp. acquisition using a tip from a law school buddy.

Weishaus’ trial will begin Jan. 21, U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter said at a hearing in Manhattan. The trial is expected to last no more than two weeks.

Weishaus, who appeared in court wearing a suit and striped Lacoste sneakers, did not speak at the hearing.
