Demolition Legislation Introduced In Philly City Council

Law360, Philadelphia (October 3, 2013, 2:16 PM EDT) -- Responding to the June building collapse that killed six and injured 13, Philadelphia City Council members on Thursday introduced legislation aimed at strengthening safety requirements for demolition work and mandating minimum training for both contractors and city inspectors.

The legislation follows a 70-page report released by a special five-member City Council committee in September that outlined strategies for reforming the legal and regulatory framework for demolition in the city.
