Ariz. Gov. Urges Dismissal Of Medicaid Expansion Suit

Law360, New York (October 3, 2013, 3:29 PM ET) -- Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Wednesday urged a judge to scrap a lawsuit that Republican lawmakers filed in hopes of crippling the state's Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act, saying they lack standing to challenge a hospital tax that will bankroll the extra coverage.

In her motion to dismiss, Brewer argued that the legislators, as well as several residents who joined them in the litigation, won't be injured by the taxing of hospitals and therefore don't meet the Arizona Supreme Court's standards for bringing suit....
