Prosecutors Seek Stiff Sentence For Ex-Detroit Mayor

Law360, New York (October 03, 2013, 5:10 PM ET) -- Authorities urged a Michigan federal court judge on Thursday to sentence ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to 28 years in prison for running an extensive kickback scheme involving city contracts, asserting that the landmark corruption case warranted a hefty penalty for the havoc it wreaked on the already distressed city.
