Deals Rumor Mill: BNP Paribas, Ikaria, Best Buy

By Karlee Weinmann (October 4, 2013, 1:33 PM EDT) -- Three major European banks — France's BNP Paribas SA, Spain's Banco Santander SA and Italy's UniCredit SpA — will square off in the chase to acquire Polish lender Bank BGZ SA in a deal pegged at $1.2 billion, sources told Polish newspaper Puls Biznesu and Reuters on Friday. BGZ was put up for sale after its parent, Rabobank, said over the summer that it was evaluating its options for its 98 percent stake in the unit. The bigger banks are seeking to dig deeper into the Poland, Eastern Europe's largest economy....
