Kan. Supreme Court Overturns Coal Plant Permit

Law360, New York (October 04, 2013, 7:14 PM ET) -- The Kansas Supreme Court on Friday overturned a permit granted in 2010 by the Kansas Department of Health and the Environment to Sunflower Electric Power Corp. to build a coal-fired power plant in the southwestern part of the state.

The unanimous decision found that the KDHE erred in issuing the permit, which didn't take into account a series of regulations that were enacted beforehand.
