Gibbons Snags Ex-Roche Chief Patent Counsel For IP Practice

Law360, New York (October 09, 2013, 9:59 PM ET) -- Hoffman-LaRoche Inc.’s decision to shutter its Nutley, N.J., headquarters became an opportunity for Gibbons PC to strengthen its patent team, as Gibbons announced Monday that Roche’s former chief patent counsel has joined the firm as counsel in its intellectual property practice.

George W. Johnston, who recently finished a 36-year career at the pharmaceutical giant, joined the Gibbons team Monday. Johnston served as vice president and chief patent counsel at Roche but decided to jump back into firm work due to Roche’s recent shake-up.
