NY Casino Developer Bucks Rival's Bid To Halt $600M Project

Law360, New York (October 8, 2013, 5:39 PM EDT) -- A New York state court has denied a rival's request to block Empire Resorts Inc.'s plans to build a $600 million racino, hotel and golf course complex over alleged violations of the petitioner's zoning rights and state environmental laws, Empire said Tuesday.

Judge Stephan G. Schick on Oct. 2 rejected Concord Associates LP's Article 78 petition, ruling that the Town of Thompson and its officials had been right to grant an Empire Resorts Inc. unit approvals to build the project, which superceded  CALP's own previous approvals...
