Sports Fans Can't Grill Comcast CEO In Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (October 9, 2013, 4:54 PM EDT) -- Sports fans accusing Comcast Corp. of making anti-competitive agreements with professional teams will not have the opportunity to depose CEO Brian Roberts, after a New York federal judge said Wednesday there was no evidence suggesting Roberts participated in telecast negotiations. 

U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin, who is overseeing two putative class actions accusing multiple cable companies and sports leagues of colluding to create monopolies, granted Comcast’s request to deny the deposition of Roberts, but will allow the plaintiffs to resubmit their request if relevant evidence surfaces....
