AUO Exec Acquitted In Price-Fixing Case

Law360, New York (October 11, 2013, 1:06 PM ET) -- A California jury acquitted AU Optronics Corp.'s Richard Bai of price-fixing on Thursday evening, marking the third AUO executive to be found not guilty in the government's liquid crystal display case.

Bai, who headed AUO's notebook sales division and negotiated prices with top U.S. buyers such as Apple Inc., Dell Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Co., was acquitted after a two-and-a-half-week trial in which the U.S. Department of Justice conceded that Bai didn't attend most of the secret Taiwanese meetings where the price-fixing allegedly took place.
