Asbestos Plaintiffs Assail Venue Transfer In Pa. Mass Tort

Law360, Philadelphia (October 29, 2013, 2:51 PM EDT) -- The attorney for 18 asbestos plaintiffs told the Pennsylvania Superior Court on Tuesday that a trial judge had erred in transferring the cases from Philadelphia County to Northampton County, arguing there was no evidence presented to support the shift in venues.

Roy DeCaro of Raynes McCarty said Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Sandra Mazer Moss did not follow the standards established in Pennsylvania law for “forum non conveniens” rulings when she moved the cases.
