Judge Triples Damages To $15.9M In Third Wave Suit

Law360, New York (December 19, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Molecular diagnostics company Third Wave Technologies has scored another victory in its patent infringement suit against biotech company Stratagene after a judge tripled the damages previously awarded to Third Wave from $5.3 million to $15.9 million.

After being handed a victory in the suit in September, Third Wave had asked the judge to increase the $5.3 million in damages due to Stratagene’s alleged willful infringement of the patents.
