Merger Review May Be A Moving Target During Shutdown

Law360, New York (October 15, 2013, 7:18 PM ET) -- Now that we are entering the third week of government shutdown, urban legends are circulating that the head of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition, Debbie Feinstein, and Assistant Attorney General Bill Baer of the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division are responsible for answering the phones at their agencies. Not quite. Both agencies released plans explaining how the shutdown would impact their operations and staffing, including the review of mergers and acquisitions.
