Clif Bar Can't Halt Lead Warning Case

Law360, San Francisco (October 16, 2013, 4:53 PM EDT) -- A California state judge Wednesday denied Clif Bar & Co.'s bid to stay a case claiming it failed to warn consumers about lead in its foods, saying it doesn't make sense to halt the proceedings until a state appeals court rules on a similar case involving lead in baby foods.

Judge James McBride rejected Clif Bar's arguments that it would waste attorneys' and the court's time and money to proceed with Environmental Research Center Inc.'s case over lead in its snack bars.
