FDA Funding For Drug Ad Reviews Faces Debate

Law360, New York (February 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Food and Drug Administration may soon have more money to investigate claims made in drug ads, but the source of that money will likely face a spirited debate in Congress.

President George W. Bush's proposed 2009 budget calls for $14 million for 27 FDA positions devoted to the consumer ad review program, according to a report in USA Today.
