Jeweler Yurman Accuses Italian Co. Of Pinky Ring Ripoff

Law360, New York (October 17, 2013, 2:04 PM EDT) -- Jewelry giant David Yurman lodged a lawsuit in Manhattan court Tuesday accusing two Italian companies of stealing trade secrets to produce a knock-off version of the designer's popular pinky rings.

Yurman says Artifex S.p.A. and Bonato Milano 1960 S.r.l. — affiliated companies held by designer Armando Pasini — misappropriated ring molds and other proprietary design materials that Yurman handed over during talks for Pasini to become a third-party manufacturer of the so-called Signature pinky rings.
