Fla. Lets Duke Energy Pass $3B In Nuke Costs To Customers

Law360, Miami (October 17, 2013, 7:42 PM ET) -- Florida's Public Service Commission on Thursday approved a revised settlement agreement with Duke Energy Florida Inc. that will leave customers picking up $3.2 billion of the costs from one shuttered nuclear power plant and another canceled nuclear project.

In a 4-1 vote, the PSC signed off on the contentious agreement that resolves any remaining issues regarding Duke's nuclear power plant in Crystal River — which the company in February announced would be permanently retired — and plans to build a $24.7 billion facility in Levy County...
