Ex-Kan. AG Sanctioned For Abortion Probe Ethics Violations

Law360, New York (October 18, 2013, 3:39 PM ET) -- The Kansas Supreme Court on Friday indefinitely barred former state Attorney General Phill Kline from practicing law in the state, finding he defied court orders and whitewashed alleged patient record mishandling while investigating abortion providers.

The state high court refused a disciplinary officer's recommendation that Kline be disbarred, but nonetheless indefinitely suspended his license after uncovering 11 violations of the Kansas Rules of Professional Conduct from his probes of abortion providers during tenures as attorney general and later as Johnson County district attorney.
