With Counterfeiting, You Want Govt. In Your Business

Law360, New York (February 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The recently released annual report to the President and Congress on Coordination of Intellectual Property Enforcement heralds the “record increase in intellectual property enforcement” and a renewed focus by “all agencies on the public health and safety implication of counterfeit goods.”

There has been a 7% increase from 2006 to 2007 in intellectual property cases filed by the Department of Justice, and a 35% increase in defendants sentenced because of intellectual property crimes.
