Oil Well Drilling Toolmaker Says Rival Copied Invention

Law360, New York (October 18, 2013, 7:30 PM ET) -- An oil well drilling toolmaker hit a competing provider of services and equipment for oil and natural gas exploration with a suit in Oklahoma federal court Friday alleging its rival infringed two of its patents.

The suit accused the Norman, Okla.-based Access Downhole LP of infringing two Thru Tubing Solutions Inc. patents covering a unique method for tapping into oil and natural gas formations, and the patent owner sought enhanced damages citing the "knowing, willful and wanton nature" of the purported violations.
