EMusic Founder Objects To Approval Of E-Book Settlements

Law360, Los Angeles (October 18, 2013, 6:22 PM EDT) -- EMusic founder Bob Kohn on Friday objected to the preliminary approval of settlements with Penguin Group USA Inc. and Macmillan Publishers USA, companies that allegedly plotted with Apple Inc. to fix e-book prices, saying the court doesn't have sufficient facts concerning the claims or possible defenses to "intelligently" approve the settlement.
The objection comes a week after consumers suing Apple for millions of dollars allegedly caused by the iPad maker's plot pushed to have their case certified as a class action. U.S. District Judge Denise Cote...
