Senate Confirms Richard Griffin As NLRB General Counsel

Law360, New York (October 29, 2013, 6:44 PM ET) -- The U.S. Senate on Tuesday approved President Barack Obama's nomination of Richard Griffin to serve as the National Labor Relations Board general counsel, despite Republican concerns about his union background and his time as a recess appointee to the board. 

The Senate confirmed the nomination in a 55-44 vote that fell along party lines with Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, joining her Democratic colleagues in approving the nomination.
