Nuance, CooTek Settle ITC Action Over Cellphone Patents

Law360, New York (October 24, 2013, 4:30 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission called off on Wednesday its investigation into whether certain imports of mobile handset devices and related touch keyboard software were infringing patents belonging to Nuance Communications Inc., after the company reached a settlement with the named Chinese importer.

Shanghai HanXian Information Technology Co. Ltd., also known as CooTek, reached a deal with Nuance to end the ITC action, as well as related cases pending in Delaware federal court and the Shanghai First Intermediate People’s Court.
