Execs Promise Safer Food To Skeptical Lawmakers

Law360, New York (February 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Top executives of companies responsible for recent food recalls told a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee on Tuesday that they were taking steps to make their food safer, as lawmakers accused them of not being proactive enough.

The executives were invited to testify before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce's subcommittee on oversight and investigations at a hearing meant to address a mounting safety problem in the American food industry.
