Insurer Wants Out Of NYC Skyscraper Fire Coverage Suit

Law360, New York (October 24, 2013, 2:58 PM ET) -- An Odyssey Re Holdings Corp. subsidiary's pollution insurance policy doesn't belong in a coverage action over a deadly downtown Manhattan skyscraper fire while a contractor on the project is pursuing coverage from other policies with pollution exclusions, the insurer's attorney told a New York state judge Thursday. 

The issue, which Justice Shirley Werner Kornreich noted during the hearing, is apparently one of first impression for the Manhattan state court: whether the contractor in charge of the deconstruction of the former Deutsche Bank building at the World...
