House Approves Water Projects Spending Measure

Law360, San Diego (October 24, 2013, 10:47 PM ET) -- The U.S. House of Representatives voted on Wednesday in favor of a measure authorizing a series of waterway and port projects across the U.S., including a levee upgrade program aimed at safeguarding Sacramento from a major flood.

With a 417-3 vote, lawmakers approved the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2013, which had gained bipartisan support and seeks to expedite the review process by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in order to curb project delays.
