EU Slaps Microsoft With €899M Fine

Law360, New York (February 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In the largest fine ever imposed on a single company by the European Commission, antitrust regulators slapped Microsoft Corp. with an €899 million penalty for failing to comply with a 2004 order to lower prices for interoperability information.

The EC handed down the fine on Wednesday, stating that the penalty comes in response to Microsoft's noncompliance with the specific requirements of a March 2004 decision.
