Dawn Raid Appeal Latest Fight Over EU 'Overreach'

Law360, New York (October 28, 2013, 6:52 PM EDT) -- Orange SA has challenged the European Commission's decision to raid its offices as part of a competition probe of the telecom industry, adding its voice to the chorus of companies claiming the antitrust watchdog is exceeding its authority to conduct surprise inspections.

The company, formerly known as France Telecom, was one of several telecom firms raided in late June as the EC began to investigate the possibility that the companies were abusing their dominance in order to limit competition for Internet services.
