In Sandy’s Wake, Property Owners Boost Storm Defenses

Law360, New York (October 29, 2013, 2:55 PM ET) -- On Oct. 25, 2012, executives at real estate brokerage Cushman & Wakefield's New York and New Jersey offices began tracking Superstorm Sandy as it roiled the Caribbean Sea with winds hitting 105 mph and began to turn itself toward the Mid-Atlantic region.

Four days before the storm would make landfall, many business and property owners in the area remained unconvinced by the doomsday scenarios playing out on the news and the warnings from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
