Ill. Court Revokes Defense Coverage In Contractor Injury Suit

Law360, New York (October 29, 2013, 3:23 PM EDT) -- An Illinois state appeals court on Monday relieved Pekin Insurance Co. of defending a general contractor against a subcontractor employee's workplace injury suit because the suit didn't allege negligence against the subcontractor, the policy's named insured.

Reversing a trial judge, the Illinois Appellate Court determined that Durdel & Sons Landscaping & Tree Service Inc. worker Charles Hill Jr. had not accused general contractor R.A.
