Pa. Lottery Privatization Bid 'Misguided,' Treasurer Says

Law360, Philadelphia (October 29, 2013, 4:10 PM EDT) -- Pennsylvania Treasurer Rob McCord said Monday that continued payments to consultants such as DLA Piper LLP and Blank Rome LLP for Gov. Tom Corbett's stalled efforts to hire a private manager for the state’s lottery system were a needless drain on taxpayer resources.

Citing the administration’s expenditure of some $3.4 million in lottery funds to pursue a privatization plan, McCord urged Corbett to drop British firm Camelot Global Services PA LLC's pending bid proposal, in which the company would assume day-to-day management of the lottery system....
