EU Telecoms, E-Services To Pay VATs In Customer's State

Law360, New York (October 29, 2013, 6:22 PM EDT) -- European telecoms and e-services will soon pay value-added taxes in the nation where customers are based, rather than where the company is located, the European Commission said in guidance issued Tuesday.

The new policy, which takes effect in 2015, is among a series of reforms to universalize value-added taxes in the European Union and modernize the taxation of e-commerce.
