Brookfield Raises $7B For Global Infrastructure Fund

Law360, New York (October 30, 2013, 3:19 PM EDT) -- Brookfield Asset Management Inc. has maxed out its second infrastructure fund at $7 billion and will focus on committing capital to energy and renewable power assets around the world, the Toronto investment firm said Wednesday.

Over half of the 60 investors in the new fund are new faces, Brookfield said, whose total contributions total $4.2 billion. Brookfield itself contributed $2.8 billion in order to align its interests with those of its investors, exceeding its original $5 billion target.
