San Francisco 'Soda Tax' Proposal To Face Familiar Foes

Law360, San Diego (November 1, 2013, 10:59 PM EDT) -- A San Francisco supervisor floated a proposal Tuesday to tax sugary drinks in the city, and while the measure may resonate with left-leaning voters, experts say it will face the same staunch opposition that killed similar California efforts last year, including criticism from the beverage industry and from residents wary of the government meddling in their lifestyle choices.
