Health Net Subpoenaed By N.Y. Attorney General

Law360, New York (February 28, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Health Net Inc. has been subpoenaed by New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo as part of a lawsuit over the reimbursements health care providers make to patients when they use out-of-network doctors.

In a Thursday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Health Net said it was one of the 16 health insurance companies Cuomo issued subpoenas to in mid-February.

Cuomo is investigating the way health insurance companies calculate how much to pay back patients when they use doctors outside of the insurer's network....
