Pa. Gov. Bashes Bid To Curb Gas Drilling On Public Land

Law360, Philadelphia (October 31, 2013, 3:18 PM ET) -- Pennsylvania’s Gov. Tom Corbett told a Commonwealth Court judge on Monday that more discovery was needed to determine whether an environmental group had proper standing to challenge the constitutionality of a law diverting money from conservation programs and opening up state lands for natural gas drilling.

Corbett said that it was too early to grant partial summary judgment to the Pennsylvania Environmental Defense Foundation, and argued that more discovery was needed to determine whether the group was affected by a law that transferred $143 million out...
