Fla. High Court Hits 'Combative' Atty With Lengthy Suspension

Law360, Miami (October 31, 2013, 7:40 PM EDT) -- The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday demonstrated its recently increased focus on professionalism when it rejected a recommended 90-day suspension for attorney Jeffrey Alan Norkin and instead slapped him with a two-year suspension for combative and unprofessional behavior.

The state's highest court said a 90-day suspension didn't go far enough, and instead suspended the Sunrise, Fla.-based attorney for two years, plus 18 months of probation, and ordered a public reprimand before the court.
